Power Rings

Over the years of owning the gallery there has been a common theme amongst women.  It's the Judy Perlman power ring.  These rings adorn fingers of women all over town and across the country.  There's just something about them, that makes you feel like you have a little big of magic to carry around with you.  Judy used to live here in town and women who have pieces up to 40 years old have brought them in to show me.  At the time Judy was splitting her time here in Port Townsend making jewelry and up in Alaska fishing.  I have never met Judy (she lives in New Mexico now) but we've had a wonderful relationship since I bought the gallery and I can't wait to meet her one day!

So these darlings are obviously seriously lovely!

And that's what we love about them, that their beauty for some reason just gives us a little more strength.  I love the fact that with the exception of one time, it has always been that women buy these for themselves. Men just don't buy them for women and it speaks a lot to these rings.  Some women have picked one out after a divorce, to commemorate an anniversary (my first one was on the anniversary of me owning my business!) or just because they put on THAT ring and they know it was made just for them.  

Last night I had craft night here at the gallery, and my friend Kris purchased her power ring.  She had been in the other day and had that moment, the "this was made for me" moment.  Her and I are modeling our power rings!
