Mary Edwards' beautiful assemblages of jewels have graced the women of Port Townsend and beyond for many years. Here is what she has to say about her work:
My craft was born out of my love for stones and pearls. I find the endless variety from every corner of the globe amazing. The possibilities of combining color and texture is endless and an adventure for me, each day in the studio.
I create pieces that range from delicate and romantic to ethnic and earthy. I especially enjoy the luminosity of pearls. The pearl is an ancient symbol for feminine wisdom. Also, I enjoy incorporating the occasional found piece from the flea market or antique store.
Jewelry embodies romance, mystery, personal expression, and sometimes personal history. It is often a gift of love and I am honored to be a part of it all.
